Aloha Jaswani,

Keeping it simple...treat it as you would for any other energy work / physical excercise -leave 30 minutes before and after the Spring Forest Exercises or meditations.

There is a lot of information and perspectives around qi, qigong and sexual activity. I believe Master Lin is going to address some of this in his new book.

Hi Shawn

Thanks for the reply. When will the new book by The Master come out ? My question came up becuase I have read in other Qigong sites to avoid sexual activity for 24 hours in order to avoid giving the energy harnessed by qigong. I am also curious about the pracice of not ejaculating or retaining sperm and it's relation to Qigong .

I just bougt the Level 1 course and I am in process of learning it. I did a lot of research before deciding to choose this method of Qigong. I must say I am very happy with my choice. I do not have any major Health problems but would like to improve my energy level which gets low at times.

I hope to learn Level 2 in a workshop with the Master when I feel I am proficient with Level 1 and have gained some benefits from the practice.

Love and Peace

There are various guidelines relative to various qigong systems. The one thing you can count on, is how you feel. You can tell if you are depleted of energy or not. There are side effects to low energy, like lower back pain, or kidney soreness, ringing in the ears...
Balance is struck by the individual, relative to a systems guidelines. I find SFQ is very user friendly. Many of the meditations/exercises gather new energy "in", and the positions are not too physically demanding, and allow for variation in how they are performed. (lying or sitting, versus standing, or standing in a lower stance)

bent knees

Hello
I've just purchased spring forest qigong and have been doing the exercises for 2 weeks, nearly every day. in the first exercise, beginning of universe, chunyi lin states that the knees should be bent and if you want to loose weight slightly more bent. Are the knees bent in all exercises?
After I do these exercises I have a strong body odour, is this a good sign that I am releasing toxins. I am under medication so I have alot of stuff to eliminate.

My favourite exercise is "harmony of the universe" instead 2 which I resist are "joining of ying and yang", and "seven steps".
Any suggestions to overcome this resistance.

thanks for your time
regards Donia

You just relax into it and the resistance fads away.

Aloha Donia,

Remember to use the "post" button to start a new topic and the "Reply" to comment on the current one.

knees are bent during all. The odor can be detoxing, which is not uncommon.

Just acknowledge the resistance and have fun with them - see yourself and other friends who'd like healing in the ball, bathing in the energy as they are refreshed and renewed. If 7-steps is a balance thing, do it with your legs staying flat on the ground. Find something to focus on - the energy going up and down, the breath, the energy coming in and out of all your cells, etc.

Much Love, Shawn
